About Us

Our Mission:

At Giving Bikes Back, we believe everyone deserves access to reliable, affordable transportation. Our mission is simple: to repair and redistribute donated bicycles to individuals and families in need, helping them get where they need to go and giving them a little more freedom along the way.

How It Started:

What began as a small group of volunteers fixing up bikes in a barn has grown into a community-driven nonprofit powered by generosity, grit, and a love for two wheels. We saw how something as simple as a bike could change a life and we’ve been pedaling forward ever since

What We Do:

We collect new and gently used bicycles from local donors, fix them up in our workshop, and give them, free of charge, to people who truly need them. We work with shelters, schools, community centers, and social service agencies to identify the recipients who will benefit most.

But we don’t stop at just bikes, we also provide:

  • Helmets and safety gear
  • Training Wheels
  • Basic bike education and maintenance tips
  • Why Bikes?

Bicycles are more than just a way to get around, they are a valuable tool for opportunity. Owning a bike can:

  • Help a parent get to work or run errands
  • Allow a student to attend school or activities
  • Support healthier lifestyles and reduce environmental impact
  • Our Values:

  • Equity: Everyone deserves access to transportation.
  • Sustainability: We give new life to old bikes and reduce waste.
  • Community:We’re built by volunteers, donors, and local partners.
  • Empowerment:A bike isn’t just a gift, it’s independence.
  • Join Us:

Whether you’re donating a bike, giving your time, or helping fund our work, you’re part of the ride. Together, we’re building stronger communities, one bicycle at a time.
